What's Blooming Now

What’s Blooming – March 2021

This year is a little unusual all over the south and east in that we had cold and winter storms much later. So trees, shrubs, and ground plants that normally beginning blooming in February or even late January are just starting to show up. The big bee nectar and pollen source for my bees are the Red Maples. Silver Maples will be blooming this month as well. Also, we’ll start to see Willow and Forsythia and some of the ornamental trees like Cherry, Plum, and Crab Apple. Red Buds are coming on as well, and of course the Henbit and Dead Nettle are blooming. The bulb plants are also active and our bees are bringing in pollen from daffodils.
